To offer my own experience, I taught English in Taiwan straight after college, but decided against getting a TEFL cert. because I wasn't sure if this was going to be something I wanted to do for awhile. But living abroad as a great experience so after my first experience I decided to get my certification and gain more experience. Could not have been happier with the decision.
